An opportunity exists for a dedicated professional to provide specialized support in a dynamic K-12 educational environment. This role seeks an individual with a strong background in behavior support and special education, particularly focused on students with autism and other developmental challenges.
Qualifications:
- Valid state Special Education Teaching licensure
- Experience as a Behavior Specialist or Autism Specialist
- Proven ability to implement positive behavior intervention plans (PBIS)
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team and student population
- Previous experience supporting students with aggressive behaviors
Location:
- Lakewood, NM
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support
- Provide direct support and guidance to students exhibiting challenging behaviors
- Train and support teaching staff and paraprofessionals on behavior management techniques
- Maintain documentation and progress reports as required by school policy
- Engage with families to foster a supportive learning environment
