Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Teaching License
- Current and active special education certifications
- Previous experience teaching in an Adaptive Self-Contained classroom
- Strong understanding of various special education eligibility categories, including AU, ID, and MD
- Ability to collaborate effectively with instructional assistants and support staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Location:
Manassas, VA
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in accordance with state guidelines
- Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that caters to students' varying needs
- Collaborate with instructional assistants to facilitate effective learning experiences
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to ensure continued growth
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and support staff regarding student development
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
