Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students in a self-contained life skills classroom.
- Assess and evaluate students' academic, social, medical, and physical needs to create comprehensive support plans.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, specialists, and support staff to enhance the learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student development and needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Valid state certification or licensure in Special Education.
- Experience working with high-needs students in a K-12 setting, particularly in life skills programs.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
