Job Description
Engage students in a dynamic learning environment as a dedicated professional focused on middle school special education. This role is tailored for individuals who are passionate about fostering the academic and social growth of approximately 20 students with mild to moderate needs. The position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact within a full-time contract from August 8, 2025, to May 20, 2026.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with middle school-aged students, particularly with mild to moderate disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively with staff, students, and parents
Location:
- Schuyler, NE
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of students
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure a cohesive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with IEP requirements
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and challenges
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
