An opportunity exists for a dedicated professional specializing in the education of students with diverse needs. This contract position is based in Simla, CO, within an elementary school setting, where you will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid state certification or licensure in Special Education.
- Previous experience teaching students with special needs, preferably in an elementary setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Knowledge of various teaching strategies and methods tailored to diverse learners.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt instructional materials and lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students.
- Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and parents to create and maintain effective IEPs.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback through assessments and regular communication.
- Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes social and emotional development.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and relevant training.
