Qualifications:
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience in teaching students with high needs, particularly in academic and social skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of different teaching strategies and assistive technologies
Location:
- Sullivan, IL
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction to meet the varied needs of students in a self-contained life skills classroom
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess student progress and adjust IEP goals accordingly
- Develop a structured curriculum that focuses on academic, social, medical, and physical skills
- Maintain a supportive and positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and independence
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs
