Job Description
The Prison Education Program seeks a certified Special Education Instructor to provide virtual instruction focused on enhancing reading skills for incarcerated students. This role is essential in delivering specially designed educational experiences to support the unique needs of students within the prison system.
Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans and deliver engaging lessons that align with IEP goals to support students effectively.
- Document instruction details, including the content delivered, dates and times, ensuring compliance with educational standards.
- Monitor student progress continuously, addressing gaps in understanding and providing necessary remediation.
- Collaborate professionally with peers and administrators to foster a positive, student-centered learning environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to enhance the educational experience for students.
Qualifications:
- Current Delaware Licensure (14 DE Admin Code 1500 - Professional Standards Board).
- Delaware Certification in at least one content area (14 DE Admin Code 1500 - Professional Standards Board).
- Current Delaware Certification in Special Education.
