Job Description
The Prison Education Program seeks a dedicated and certified Special Education Teacher to provide specially designed virtual instruction aimed at enhancing reading skills for incarcerated students. This role offers the unique opportunity to make a significant impact on incarcerated students' lives while working in a flexible, remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lesson plans that align with IEP goals to support reading improvement.
- Document instruction details, including dates, times, and any relevant criteria as required by the supervising teacher.
- Monitor student progress closely, addressing gaps in understanding and providing necessary remediation.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administrators in a professional manner, focusing on student outcomes.
- Complete additional duties as assigned to enhance the educational experience.
Qualifications:
- Active Delaware Licensure in Education.
- Current Delaware Certification in at least one content area
- Special Education certification specific to Delaware standards.
Location:
- Virtual instruction with a focus on designated K-12 students in a correctional setting.
