A unique opportunity exists for a dedicated professional to support students with diverse needs in an elementary setting. This role focuses on creating an inclusive and structured environment for young learners within the Multi-Intervention Program for Students with Autism.
Location: Washington, DC
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with instructional assistants and other support staff to facilitate a positive learning atmosphere.
- Employ a variety of teaching strategies to enhance communication, social skills, and independent life skills among students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive records of student performance and progress towards IEP goals.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching license in DC or eligibility for licensure.
- Demonstrated experience working with students with autism and in special education settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of multi-intervention programs and structured teaching methods.
