An opportunity exists for a dedicated professional skilled in providing educational support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This part-time position involves working in a K-12 school environment across multiple campuses, focusing on a mixed caseload.
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Relevant experience teaching students with hearing impairments, particularly in K-12 settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educational professionals
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other appropriate communication methods
Location:
Fort Pierce, Florida
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to create an inclusive learning environment
- Provide direct instruction and support to students using appropriate communication methods
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress
