An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated professional specializing in education for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This full-time position is set to commence on August 13, 2025, within a K-12 school environment located in Rock Hill, SC.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification in deaf education
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Proficient in sign language and other relevant communication methods
Location:
Rock Hill, SC (about 30 minutes from downtown Charlotte)
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet each student's unique needs
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to enhance student learning and communication
- Utilize appropriate teaching strategies and technology to support students' educational development
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed
- Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings
