An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated professional to provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a dynamic K-12 educational environment. This part-time position is based in Vero Beach, FL, and involves working across multiple campuses, addressing the diverse needs of a mixed-grade caseload.
Qualifications:
- Certified Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in Florida
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in mixed-grade settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods
Location:
- Vero Beach, FL - Itinerant position supporting various school campuses
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' needs
- Provide direct instruction and support in accordance with IEP goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to facilitate effective communication
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress
- Participate in team meetings and maintain relevant documentation
