Qualifications:
- Eligible for or possess a Virginia teaching license with endorsement in Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
- Strong understanding of K-12 educational practices and accessibility techniques.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel between school locations as required.
- Preferred dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, though not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments.
- Collaborate with other educational professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance in compliance with school policies.
- Provide training and resources to staff and families regarding visual impairment and support strategies.
