Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education, preferably with an emphasis on Visual Impairment
- Valid teaching certification or endorsement in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments (TVI)
- Experience working with K-12 students, demonstrating effective instructional strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of assistive technology and resources for students with visual impairments
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs
- Assess students progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure successful learning outcomes
- Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to enhance the educational experience
- Provide training and support to staff regarding visual impairment and appropriate interventions
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and documentation as required
- Facilitate a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
