Job Description
Seeking skilled Teachers for the Visually Impaired to provide impactful educational support in a K-12 setting located in Kent, WA. This role focuses on creating tailored learning experiences for students with visual impairments, ensuring each individual receives the guidance and resources needed to thrive.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Education, Special Education, or related field
- Valid Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification
- Strong understanding of IEPs and 504 plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience working with K-12 students preferred
Location: Kent, WA (K-12 School Environment)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Assess students needs and adapt curricula to ensure effective learning
- Collaborate with special education staff, parents, and other professionals to support student goals
- Monitor and evaluate students progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and documentation for IEP meetings
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters social and emotional development
