Job Description

Engage your expertise in a supportive educational environment tailored for students with visual impairments. This position is situated in Tacoma, WA, within a dynamic K-12 school setting, focusing on delivering personalized instruction and support to a diverse caseload of 10-14 students. This contract is for the 2025-2026 school year.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification
  • Strong understanding of IEP and 504 plans
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience working with K-12 students preferred

Location:

  • Tacoma, WA

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
  • Collaborate with educational staff and support teams to ensure effective learning experiences
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding academic and social development
