Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Elkhart/Goshen, IN

Employment Period: 2024-2025 School Year

Work Setting: Onsite

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time, onsite position based in Elkhart/Goshen, IN, focuses on providing services to preschool students. The SLP will work 40 hours per week, supporting young children's speech and language development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluations: Perform detailed assessments of preschoolers' speech, language, and communication abilities to identify needs and determine service eligibility.
  • Therapy: Create and implement personalized treatment plans and therapy sessions tailored to preschool students' unique needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with teachers, special education staff, and other service providers to integrate speech and language goals into the preschool program.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain precise and current records of student progress, therapy plans, and IEP goals. Prepare comprehensive reports and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Parent Communication: Regularly update families on student progress, provide resources, and involve them in the therapeutic process.
  • Continued Education: Keep up-to-date with the latest practices, research, and developments in speech-language pathology through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Indiana state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
  • Experience with preschool-aged children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-Time: 40 hours per week, following the school calendar for the 2024-2025 academic year.
