DHH Teacher Opportunity in Anchorage, AK – 2024-2025
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and passionate DHH Teacher to join our team in Anchorage, Alaska. This itinerant position will involve providing specialized academic instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ensuring that all students receive personalized, evidence-based learning.
Position Information:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- PreK-21 students, with varying levels of functioning.
- Work includes consulting with SPED Teachers and SLPs to ensure student progress.
- Travel required once or twice a month for team collaboration and coaching (all expenses covered).
- Travel includes flight to Anchorage, local transportation, and hotel accommodations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver specialized instruction using methods like phonics, repetition, and multisensory learning.
- Keep regular communication with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student progress.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- DHH certification required.
- Experience preferred but not necessary.
- Strong communication skills in ASL, Total Communication, and spoken language.
