Location: Elmwood Park, Illinois
Employment Type: Full-Time
Hourly Pay: $45–$50

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join a supportive elementary school in Elmwood Park, IL. This full-time role will involve working with elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting, focusing on providing personalized support for students with various disabilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects and life skills tailored to the specific needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other staff to support student inclusion and success.
  • Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, structured environment.
  • Track student progress, adjust teaching strategies, and communicate regularly with parents, administrators, and support staff.

What You Need to Apply:

  • Certification Requirements: Must hold a valid Special Education Teaching License in Illinois. This includes:
    • A valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Special Education.
    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education (or equivalent).
    • Successful completion of the required Illinois state exams for Special Education licensure.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially in a special education setting, is preferred but not required.
  • Strong ability to differentiate instruction and apply individualized strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Compassionate, patient, and skilled in classroom management, with a focus on building positive relationships with students.

  2. Step 2: Virtual interview with the school district (20-30 minutes).
