Middle School Special Education Teacher – Rock Hill, SC
Location: Rock Hill, South Carolina
Employment Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
Hourly Pay: $35–$45

ProCare Therapy is partnering with a middle school in Rock Hill, SC, to find a compassionate and qualified Special Education Teacher. This full-time position involves teaching students with severe intellectual disabilities in a self-contained classroom. The successful candidate must be comfortable in this specialized classroom setting and passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans for students with severe intellectual disabilities.
  • Provide direct instruction in core subjects as well as functional life skills.
  • Collaborate with 2 teaching assistants and a 1:1 paraprofessional to create a positive, structured learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress, adapt lessons, and apply behavior management strategies as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administrators to ensure students are progressing toward their goals.

What You Need to Apply:

  • Valid South Carolina Special Education Teaching Certification.
  • Comfort and experience working with students with severe intellectual disabilities.
  • Ability to modify lessons and teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Compassionate, patient, and skilled in managing diverse classroom needs.

Interview Process:

  1. Initial phone screening (10-15 minutes) to discuss your qualifications and experience.
  2. Virtual interview with the school district (20-30 minutes).
  3. Offer extended within 24-48 hours of the interview.
