About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and caring School Social Worker to join our team in Sterling Heights, Michigan. In this role, you’ll provide counseling, emotional support, and crisis intervention for students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. By working closely with educators, parents, and other professionals, you will help create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student success and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling for students with emotional, social, and behavioral concerns.
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create plans that support students’ emotional and social development.
- Connect students and families to community resources and services.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide insights on students with emotional and behavioral needs.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with district policies and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work.
- Valid Michigan School Social Worker License (LMSW or equivalent).
- Experience in a school environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of relevant school social work laws and practices.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $35-$45 per hour, based on experience.
