We have two exciting opportunities for full-time Special Education Teachers in Juneau, Alaska with the Juneau School District. The first opportunity is for an Elementary School Self-Contained Special Education Teacher, and the second opportunity is for a Middle School Special Education Teacher for grades 6-7.
As a Special Education Teacher in either role, you will be responsible for providing educational support and instruction to students with special needs in a self-contained classroom setting. You will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting instructional materials and strategies to meet the needs of each student. Additionally, you will monitor student progress, communicate with parents and caregivers, and collaborate with other teachers and staff members to provide a comprehensive educational experience.
These positions are both full-time (37.5 hours/week) for the 22-23 school year. To be considered for either position, you must have a valid teaching certificate with an endorsement in Special Education in the state of Alaska. You should have a passion for working with students with special needs and have experience creating and implementing IEPs. Additionally, you should have strong communication and collaboration skills and be committed to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
