We are seeking a passionate special education teacher to join our team, committed to delivering exceptional educational experiences for students with learning differences.
Work alongside a diverse group of professionals, including special education staff, classroom teachers, and social workers, to foster a nurturing learning environment.
Job Details
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 06/2025 - Subject to change
Schedule: Full-time
Target Group: 2nd - 4th
Caseload: 8 students with class aid
Responsibilities
- Provide tailored instruction across subjects, employing evidence-based approaches like multisensory learning.
- Craft individualized educational plans that align with each student's needs.
- Facilitate communication among parents and education professionals regarding student development.
- Utilize positive reinforcement to guide students toward appropriate social behaviors.
- Maintain accurate records in line with educational policies.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify instructional content as needed.
- Conduct evaluations to identify learning disabilities and track progress.
- Employ a variety of teaching methods, including discussions and hands-on activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field
- Previous school experience preferred but not essential
- Illinois special education credentials
- PEL certification
