Job Opening: Special Education Teacher (K-12)
Location: Greenwood, IN
Position: Full-Time [Contract]
Salary: $35-$40.00 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team and support K-12 students with diverse learning needs. This role involves creating an inclusive classroom environment, developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and collaborating with staff, students, and families to ensure every student’s success.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
• Provide tailored instruction and support to students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to monitor student progress.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Participate in IEP meetings and other school-related activities.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education.
• Certification: Valid K-12 Special Education teaching license.
• Experience: Preferred, but not required.
• Skills:
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and best practices.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with students with autism or learning disabilities.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish, ASL, or other languages) are a plus.
