Special Education Teacher – Avon, MA (2024-2025 School Year)

ProCare Therapy is excited to partner with a dynamic school district in Avon, MA to hire a Special Education Teacher for an immediate opening in the 2024-2025 school year. Position Details:

  • Start Date: ASAP, pending CORI check and waiver approval by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
  • Hours per Week: 35 hours per week
  • Age Group: Students approximately aged 7-10 years old.
  • Caseload: 4 students, with disabilities including Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), and Emotional/Behavioral challenges.
  • Location: Avon, MA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to meet the needs of students with Autism, SLD, and emotional/behavioral challenges.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students on your caseload, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially.
  • Collaborate with a team of educators, staff, and families to ensure each student’s success.
  • Implement effective behavioral and emotional support strategies in the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide reports to families and school administrators.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (minimum).
  • Active Special Education License in Massachusetts.
  • Experience working with students with Autism, SLD, and emotional/behavioral needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with staff, parents, and administrators.
  • A passion for working with students and creating a supportive learning environment.
