Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Tuskegee, AL

Job Description:

• SPED Teacher x2
• Tuskegee, AL area
  • 30 min drive from Montgomery
• ASAP- May 23
• full time
• 1 opening left:
  • elementary grades P-6 self-contained/resource
    • some students are contained all day and others are served only for some periods of the day (resource setting)
    • candidate needs to be well-versed in autism, intellectual disability, and emotional disturbance
• on-site only
• wanting to schedule interviews ASAP

Role Overview:

• Design and deliver individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet the needs of students
• Provide academic, emotional, and social support to students with special needs
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to create a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Modify lessons and teaching strategies to suit students' varied learning styles
• Track student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education
• Current Alabama Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred
• Knowledge of special education laws and best practices
