Position Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Lafayette, TN
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract

Position Details:

• Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Tennessee Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education (Pre-K).
  • Endorsement to teach in a Comprehensive Developmental Classroom is required.

• Schedule:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM.

• Caseload Information:

  • Age group: 3-4 years old
  • Fluid caseload with no more than 20 students
  • Candidate will work at one school site (details discussed in the interview).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Provide specialized instruction and support to help students achieve their academic and social goals.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Active Tennessee License/Certification in Special Education Teaching.
• Prior experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
