Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Special Education Teacher to join our team in Alton, NH, for the 24/25 school year. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in a contained classroom setting, fostering their academic and social-emotional growth.

Position Details:

  • Role: Full-Time Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that instructional goals and objectives are tailored to each student's unique strengths and challenges.
  • Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, including reading, writing, math, and social studies, using evidence-based instructional strategies and accommodations to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to coordinate and deliver appropriate services and supports to students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment.
  • Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and data collection, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed to promote student growth and achievement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, self-confidence, and independence.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, colleagues, and other members of the educational team to discuss student progress, concerns, and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, behavior, and participation in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid teaching certification/licensure in Special Education (NH certification preferred).
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with specific learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and other health impairments.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills, with the ability to differentiate instruction and provide individualized support to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders.
  • Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom and school community.
