Caseload: Self-Contained, Grades 2-4
Job Description:
We are seeking full-time Special Education Teachers to work in self-contained classrooms for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Malden, MA. These classrooms serve students in grades 2-4, and the ideal candidates will have experience working with students in substantially separate settings. Teachers will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and providing direct instruction in both academic and social-emotional areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs for students in a self-contained ASD classroom setting.
- Provide direct instruction and support in academic and life skills for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to create individualized plans for each student.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Create a structured, supportive environment that fosters the social and emotional development of students.
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teaching License (required).
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a self-contained setting (preferred).
- Strong understanding of IEP development and behavior management strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
