Job Title: School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Merced, CA
Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team for the 2023-2024 school year. This position will be based in Merced, and will involve working with students ranging from K-12th grade.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct therapy sessions to address students' speech and language goals, utilizing evidence-based practices and a variety of therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and implement strategies that support students' communication skills within the educational environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, progress reports, and treatment plans in accordance with school policies and state regulations.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and other related meetings as required.
- Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current CA state license (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience working with school-aged children and young adults in a educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of various communication disorders and effective treatment techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, and educational staff.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate documentation.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and work effectively in a dynamic educational environment.
