Job Description:

We are seeking a certified, passionate and experienced 5th Grade Classroom Teacher for our Elementary school in North Central Columbus. The ideal candidate will have active OH Teaching Certification and have a passion for teaching upper elementary grade students and preparing them for Middle School/Upper Grades. This is a full-time onsite position and the pay range is $25-$30 per hour depending on education, experience level, and school budget. First-year teachers are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for 5th grade students in accordance with state and national standards.
• Provide instruction in a variety of subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.
• Prepare students for the upcoming transition from Elementary School to Middle School, and work with students to develop good study habits, and practice taking notes and long form unit instruction.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning needs.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and a love of learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents/guardians.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and activities.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current on best practices in education.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning needs.
• Proficiency in using technology in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning.
• Knowledge of state and national standards for 5th grade students and the ability to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet those standards.
• Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to adjust teaching strategies and techniques to meet the needs of individual students and the classroom as a whole.
