Virtual Teacher for the Visually Impaired Position - Part-Time

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Virtual TVI to join our team and provide exceptional educational support to our visually impaired students.

Job Duties:

  • Provide virtual instruction to visually impaired students in a variety of subjects and skills, including braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address each student's unique learning needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other specialists to ensure students have access to necessary accommodations and support.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and adjust instruction and support as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to families to help them navigate the educational system and access resources and services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, special education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid Missouri certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students and knowledge of braille and assistive technology.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues in a virtual setting.
  • Ability to provide engaging and effective virtual instruction using various platforms and tools.
