Job Description
A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced professional with credentials as a Respiratory Therapist, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). This contract position requires flexibility and clinical expertise to provide exceptional care to patients requiring respiratory support.
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shifts
- 3x12-hour shifts per week
Qualifications:
- Active credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Demonstrated skills and proper certifications in respiratory therapy
- Experience working in acute care or hospital settings preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly to varying acuity levels and patient needs
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS are valued
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory care treatments, including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and medication delivery, as prescribed by physicians
- Assess and monitor patients, adjusting therapy plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and any changes in patient status
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatment plans and best practices
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to promote optimal patient outcomes
