Responsibilities of School RBT Jobs

A registered behavior technician (RBT) is a credentialed paraprofessional who works one-on-one with people receiving applied behavior analysis therapy to implement their intervention plans. As an RBT, you’ll work directly with children under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), implementing treatment plans and providing them with feedback on student behavioral changes, obstacles, and achievements.

Requirements for School-Based RBT Jobs

To qualify for school RBT jobs, you must hold a high school diploma and complete the 40-hour RBT training program approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Passing the RBT competency assessment and the national certification exam is required, along with ongoing supervision by a BCBA. Then, you can obtain licensure in the state you intend to work in.
