Support and empower middle school students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist in an engaging educational environment for the 26/27 school year. This contract-to-hire opportunity is perfect for professionals passionate about making a difference in the lives of students who are Deaf or hard of hearing. With a manageable caseload of three students and a flexible, part-time schedule (15-20 hours per week), youll have the chance to provide impactful instruction while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or credentialing as a Teacher or Specialist for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Prior experience supporting middle school students is highly valued
  • Deep understanding of a variety of communication modalities, technology, and adaptive strategies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
  • Strong collaboration abilities to consult with teachers, families, and school teams
  • Skill in creating inclusive, accessible learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services customized for middle school students individual IEPs
  • Utilize evidence-based teaching practices and accommodations to foster student success
  • Partner with staff and families to promote accessible communication and curriculum for all learners
  • Maintain thorough documentation and help drive IEP development and implementation
  • Serve as an advocate for students access and participation within the school community
