Job Description

Step into a rewarding remote opportunity working as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist/Teacher with K-12 students. This contract role supports a school near San Mateo, CA, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact for students across a variety of grade levelsall from the comfort of your own home.

This part-time position begins at the start of the new school year in August 2026. The schedule is less than 20 hours per week with specific days to be determined, allowing you the flexibility to balance your professional and personal life.

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Strong background in supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students within a school setting
  • Experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Expertise in remote service delivery and virtual classroom management
  • Active California OT License (required)
  • Confidence using digital learning platforms and assistive technology
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities

Role responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment, intervention, and consultative services to K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborate remotely with educators, families, and school staff to ensure student needs are met
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt materials as needed for accessibility
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support progress monitoring in accordance with district and state regulations
  • Utilize teletherapy tools to engage students and deliver effective support strategies
