Inspire and guide young minds as a Middle School Math Teacher in a welcoming and supportive school environment near Colonial Heights. This contract opportunity spans the entire 2026-2027 academic year, running from August 10, 2026, through June 4, 2027. Key Qualifications:
- Current Virginia teaching license with proper Mathematics endorsement required
- Full eligibility at time of application (no substitute or pending licenses accepted)
- Experience teaching math at the middle school level is highly valued
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Capacity to cultivate a motivating and safe classroom culture
- Flexibility and adaptability within a collaborative educational setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging math lessons aligned with curriculum standards
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to support varying learning needs
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and classroom activities
- Foster respectful classroom dialogue and encourage critical thinking
- Participate in school meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities as needed
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to support student success
Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule of 7:20am - 3:00pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Compensation for this role falls within the range of $28-32 per hour, reflecting your expertise and commitment.
