Experience a rewarding opportunity supporting a bright elementary student in a one-to-one LPN role close to Gresham, OR. Youll make a meaningful impact providing essential care to a 7-year-old male student, helping him participate fully in his school day. This contract position is ideal for a compassionate, detail-oriented nurse who enjoys pediatric care and seeks a structured yet nurturing school-based environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active LPN license in Oregon
- Previous pediatric nursing experience preferred
- Proficient in G-tube feeding and pump management
- Comfortable with trach care, including open fistula management
- Experience providing full assistance with personal care/toileting
- Familiarity with nonverbal communication, responding to facial cues
- Ability to safely assist with wheelchair-dependent mobility
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive, individualized nursing care throughout the school day
- Administer G-tube feeds via pump, monitor intake/output, and manage feeding equipment
- Ensure safe use of the Hensinger collar to maintain airway stability
- Manage trach fistula care, remaining vigilant about respiratory support needs
- Assist student with all ADLs including toileting with dignity and sensitivity
- Safely support the student during bus transportation, with daily pickup at 10 am
- Facilitate communication through attentive observation of facial cues and nonverbal responses
- Work closely with school staff and family to support the students educational progress and comfort at school
Position Details:
- Monday through Friday schedule, 25 hours per week
- School-based assignment, with 1:1 nurse support throughout the day
- Orientation is scheduled for August 24, with the position beginning August 26 and running through the end of contract
