Step into a rewarding role supporting the School Health Services team as the new school year begins! Theres an immediate need for twelve Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to offer essential care to students in a dynamic educational environment near Jacksonville, FL. As a valued member of the nursing staff, youll play a vital part in ensuring student wellbeing throughout the academic day.
Assignments are contract-based, running Monday through Friday from 8:00 am3:30 pm, except one assignment with hours from 7:15 am2:30 pm. Three positions offer long-term possibilities, with all school locations and detailed assignments to be shared upon securing your role.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid LPN License in the state of Florida, in good standing
- Recent experience in school nursing or pediatrics, or a strong interest in student health services
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Familiarity with common pediatric health issues, medication administration, and care plan implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with school staff, students, and families
- Ability to adapt to various school settings and work efficiently in a team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care and first aid to students during the school day
- Administer medications and manage health needs per individualized plans
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student health concerns
- Support proactive health initiatives and educate students on wellness practices
- Respond swiftly and compassionately to health emergencies
