Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting a young students educational journey as a compassionate school-based LPN/LVN. This contract position runs during the 2026/2027 school year and focuses on one-on-one care for a 4-year-old student. Your day will begin by meeting the student at their home and riding the school bus with them, ensuring safe transit and continuous care. Working Monday through Friday from 8:20 AM to 1:20 PM, youll play a vital part in the students well-being throughout their school day.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current LPN/LVN license in good standing
- Previous experience working with pediatric patients, preferably in a school or similar setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in tracheostomy care and g-tube feeding/care
- Ability to respond promptly to changes in health status and follow existing care plans
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, empathetic demeanor
- Dependable transportation to meet the student at their home each morning
Key Responsibilities:
- Accompany the student on the bus to and from school, providing continuous medical oversight
- Administer trach care and g-tube feeding as needed throughout the school day
- Monitor and document the students health, reporting concerns to appropriate parties
- Collaborate with school staff and healthcare team members to ensure a safe, inclusive environment
- Attend to daily care needs with sensitivity and respect for the childs privacy and dignity
