Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold an active and current DE Certified RN credential
- Previous experience in school nursing or working with school-aged children (grades 4-7) is highly desirable
- Proficient with routine health assessments, medication administration, and emergency response protocols
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate approach, adept at managing a diverse student caseload
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to approximately 150 students, including first aid, chronic illness management, and health education
- Conduct health screenings, maintain accurate medical records, and implement individual health plans as needed
- Safeguard compliance with state and federal health guidelines within the school setting
- Partner with staff, administration, and families to support optimal student well-being and respond promptly to health concerns
- Administer immunizations and monitor communicable disease outbreaks in cooperation with local health authorities
