Step into a rewarding contract role supporting an inspiring 7-year-old student at the elementary level. This assignment specializes in 1:1 pediatric nursing, providing dedicated care to a young learner who requires full assistance throughout the school day. Youll play an essential role ensuring safety, comfort, and educational access for a child with complex medical needs.
This position calls for an LPN with pediatric experience, empathy, and adaptability. The student is non-weight bearing, wheelchair dependent, and communicates through facial cues, making patient observation and compassionate interaction vital. Medical interventions include managing a G-tube via pump, maintaining a patent trach fistula, using a Hensinger collar, toileting, and supporting all activities of daily living. Youll serve as a consistent and caring presence from bus pickup at 10 am through the close of the school day, Monday through Friday, for a total of 25 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- Current LPN license with pediatric experience (1:1 school-based experience preferred)
- Strong skills in G-tube management, trach care, and mobility assistance
- Ability to interpret non-verbal cues and provide individualized communication support
- Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to student-centered care
- Availability for orientation on August 24th, with assignment start on August 26th
Responsibilities:
- Deliver full ADL support and medical interventions throughout the school day
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to create a safe, engaging school environment
- Safely assist with bus pickup and drop-off routines daily
- Maintain accurate documentation on provided care
