Step into a rewarding opportunity near Detroit, MI, providing vital occupational therapy services within a school-based setting. This full-time, contract role offers the chance to support students from PreK through 12th grade and make a real difference in their daily school experiences. There are currently 1-2 openings, with the potential for the need to grow.
Key Qualifications:
- State licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Experience in a school setting highly valued
- Proficient in fine and gross motor skills development
- Familiarity with OT teletherapy platforms and best practices
- Strong communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Ability to design and implement IEP goals tailored to individual student needs
- Skillful in documentation and progress reporting
- Flexibility to support a range of ages and functional abilities (PreK-12th)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students skills and needs to develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services in-person and/or via teletherapy
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to promote student success
- Create engaging activities targeting fine and gross motor development
- Maintain thorough records, documenting student progress and therapy sessions
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to the multidisciplinary team
- Adapt interventions to support students in both general and special education environments
