Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting K-8 students by providing occupational therapy in an educational setting! This full-time contract position offers the chance to make a real impact for students from early elementary through middle school, during both Extended School Year (ESY) and normal school year (NSY) periods.

As an integral part of a school-based therapy team, you will deliver individualized and group OT services with a consistent weekday schedule of 7:55 AM to 3:30 PM. Focus your expertise on developing student function and independence, while collaborating with educators and families.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapist license for New York State
• Demonstrated experience (or strong interest) in school-based OT, covering K-8 populations
• Knowledge of IEP development, documentation, and implementation
• Ability to conduct assessments and provide both 1:1 and group interventions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct 16 individualized (1:1) OT sessions and 25 group sessions as assigned
• Address fine motor, sensory, and functional life skills to support academic achievement
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to IEP recommendations, progress reports, and parent communication
• Create a positive, supportive environment that encourages student participation and growth
• Participate in ESY and regular year schedules to ensure continued student progress
