Job Description
Make a difference in students' lives by providing occupational therapy services for a K-8 population in a school setting near New York, NY. This full-time contract role offers the opportunity to work during both Extended School Year (ESY) and the school year (NSY), supporting students development and helping them achieve success in their daily activities.
Desired Skills and Background:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure for school-based practice
- Experience working with K-8 students is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of and ability to implement individualized therapy plans
- Background in both 1:1 and group sessions
- Organizational skills for managing schedules and documentation
- Proficiency in effective communication and collaboration with educators, families, and other specialists
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students from kindergarten to 8th grade within assigned schools
- Lead 16 individual (1:1) therapy sessions and 25 group sessions as scheduled
- Conduct thorough assessments to develop and update individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to integrate therapy goals into classroom settings
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school and state requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
