Job Description

Step into an engaging contract opportunity supporting a diverse K-8 population near New York, NY. In this full-time role, you'll make a meaningful difference working the school schedule of 7:55 AM to 3:30 PM, with a mix of Extended School Year (ESY) and regular academic (NSY) responsibilities. As an OT professional in a school setting, you'll provide both individualized and group-based therapy, helping students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist licensure in the state
  • Prior experience working in K-8 educational environments preferred
  • Strong knowledge of school-based OT practices and documentation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to effectively manage 1:1 and group sessions within a dynamic schedule
  • Flexibility and adaptability for ESY and NSY program needs

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 16 individualized (1:1) therapy sessions and 25 group sessions per week
  • Evaluate students, develop treatment plans, and set measurable goals
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and school staff to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate, timely reports and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student participation and growth
  • Adapt therapeutic strategies for students of varying abilities and backgrounds
