Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptional, highly skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a K12 school team in Peoria, Arizona. This is a high-impact, sole-provider-style role requiring a confident clinician who can independently manage evaluation, intervention, and IEP-driven services across a diverse student population.
This position is ideal for an OT who thrives in a school-based environment, demonstrates strong clinical judgment, and can effectively support students across multiple grade levels with varying levels of need.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments across K12 settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and individualized therapy plans
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students across multiple campuses as assigned
- Address fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, self-regulation, and functional school skills
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers
- Recommend and support adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with district and state requirements
- Provide staff consultation and strategies to support student access and participation
Arizona State Requirements
Candidates must meet Arizona requirements for school-based Occupational Therapists:
- Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active Arizona Occupational Therapy License (or eligibility to obtain licensure through the Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners)
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (preferred, strongly encouraged for school placement)
- Knowledge of IDEA regulations, IEP development, and special education service delivery
- Understanding of school-based OT practice standards and educational environments

- Highly independent and confident in managing a full K12 caseload
- Experienced in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy
- Strong in evaluation, clinical reasoning, and IEP development
- Skilled in working across multiple developmental levels (elementary through high school)
- Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented
- Comfortable working without COTA support
- Collaborative with school teams while maintaining strong clinical autonomy
