Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting high school and post-secondary students for the 2026-2027 academic year as a contract Occupational Therapist. This position is conveniently situated near Redwood City, CA, and offers a consistent weekly schedule of 35 hours. Collaborate closely with another dedicated OT to provide impactful interventions, promote student independence, and help learners achieve success in their educational journey.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for California (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience working within school-based settings is highly desirable, especially with high school and post-secondary populations
- Strong understanding of IEP processes, documentation, and goal setting for educational environments
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Genuine passion for supporting students with a diverse range of abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to high school and post-secondary students, collaboratively managing a shared caseload
- Participate in assessment, intervention planning, and the evaluation of students functional abilities within the academic setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance students academic participation and daily living skills
- Maintain detailed documentation in accordance with school requirements and timelines
- Work closely with teaching staff and families to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom and school routines
- Attend team meetings and contribute professional insights to support student progress and program development
