Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in California
- Previous experience in a school-based OT role, preferably with high school or transition-age students
- Strong understanding of IEP procedures and best practices for school OT services
- Collaborative approach; adept at teaming up with fellow therapists and educational staff
- Passion for supporting diverse learners and helping students reach functional and academic goals
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive OT assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide direct intervention to students
- Collaborate closely with a second OT, dividing the caseload to optimize support and maintain work-life balance
- Attend IEP meetings, contribute to development of student-centered goals, and provide input regarding adaptations and accommodations
- Support skill development in areas such as fine motor coordination, self-care, sensory processing, and organization
- Advise teachers and staff on strategies to maximize student access to the curriculum
- Document services, progress, and outcomes in alignment with district and state guidelines
