Job Description
Start a rewarding contract assignment supporting students with special needs at a specialized learning center serving a diverse age range from elementary through high school. This opportunity, commencing September 8, 2026, and extending until June 10, 2027, offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 32.5 hours per week in an engaging and impactful educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Highly Qualified status as a Paraprofessional (must meet one of the following prior to district presentation):
- Passing score on the Minnesota ParaEducator Exam
- Minimum of 60 college credits (transcripts required; diplomas/degree certificates will not be accepted)
- Demonstrated commitment and comfort with supporting students exhibiting significant behaviors and a variety of disabilities within a Setting 4 site
- Willingness to assist with toileting and other personal care as needed
- Ability to engage sensitively and professionally across students from elementary through high school (please indicate age group preference when applying)
- Submission of both a current resume and documentation of highly qualified status is required for consideration
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support to students with intensive special education needs for the duration of the school day
- Assist teaching staff with instructional and behavioral support, maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Facilitate communication and engagement for students, adapting to individual needs and abilities
- Support safe transitions, including mobility and personal care as necessary
- Collaborate respectfully with educators, therapists, and families to optimize student success
