Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience as a Paraprofessional, preferably within school settings
- Solid understanding of the needs and challenges faced by Exceptional Children (EC)
- Commitment to supporting students with varying abilities and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset
- Ability to follow direction and adapt to the evolving needs of students and teachers
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications related to special education or paraprofessional roles are a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with EC teachers to reinforce individualized instructional strategies
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, both in and out of the classroom
- Assist with classroom management and organization to ensure a safe, positive learning environment
- Support students with academic tasks, social skills, and daily living skills as outlined in their IEPs
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom culture that promotes respect and understanding
- Assist in preparing materials and resources as directed by teaching staff
